  25.      · Well, since no-one seems to be able to crack Delta Force, I ·          
  26.        tried it again... and it seems to work. The protection rou-
  27.        tine of DF is quite heavy, but not impossible to bypass. It
  28.        sets a flag if the CD check has been passed or not, seems
  29.        that no-one else noticed that - but I didn't notice it at  
  30.        first, too. If that flag is set, the menu options "Single
  31.        Player" and "Host Multi-Player game" will become enabled.
  32.        But since all patching to the CD check routines will fail
  33.        (DF crashes ;), I did some other modifications (like over-
  34.        riding the flag). Now the menu options mentioned above are
  35.        enabled and you even can start a mission.

  37.        Now for the question "Why do you call it a BETA crack?":
  38.        I was unable to play the game correctly, because it seems
  39.        that my CD is corrupt (I did a copy of the original CD, but
  40.        repackaged it a bit using the PACK.EXE supplied. That was
  41.        not the best option, it seems, for now the game doesn't
  42.        work :( When I get to the 3D part, I get a nasty red screen
  43.        (in 256 colour mode) or the whole landscape is displayed
  44.        without any texture... (in 16M color mode). I can move,
  45.        shoot and kill ;) properly, I can get hurt and change
  46.        weapons, I'm even able to get an overhead map (without tex-
  47.        tures), my gun can be seen (yes, without textures), the
  48.        gunfire is coloured, everything is fine BUT I STILL CAN'T
  49.        PLAY THE FUCKING THING!

  51.        I'm unable to say if it's another protection (don't think
  52.        so, but it *may* be) or if my CD is faulty (I *really* think
  53.        so!). Anyway, I decided to release this crack to the public.
  54.        Please, if any of you got an original CD, try to apply the
  55.        crack and check out if you get correct 3D landscapes! If
  56.        any of you gets correct results (e.g. you can play the game
  57.        without CD as if you had the CD popped in), send e-mail to

  66.        Ezy, man. Install DF (large install), then apply the update
  67.        to version 1.00.01.00P (from Novalogic's web site). Copy
  68.        CRACK.COM to your DF directory, run CRACK.COM, done. Run DF
  69.        and pray (and don't forget to send that e-mail if it works!).
  70.        BEWARE: DON'T LET THE CD IN YOUR CD-ROM! DF WILL CRASH IF IT
  71.        DETECTS THE CD! I DON'T KNOW WHY, BUT IT *WILL* CRASH...
